Hushuppi with his real name, Ramon Abbas was on the 7th of October, 2022 convicted by a United States District Court sitting in the Central District of California for cyber fraud and other related offenses.

The United States Department of Justice in a statement on Tuesday, the 8th of October 2022 said Ramon Abbas bagged 11 years and three months imprisonment after he was found guilty of laundering proceeds of a school financing scam, business email compromise, and other fraudulent cyber schemes.

Justice Otis Wright II while delivering the judgment found Hushpuppi guilty of the charges proffered against him by the prosecution and thereby convicted him.

Don Alway, FBI LA Office Assistant Director in a statement described the now-convicted Ramon Abbas as “one of the most prolific money launderers in the world.”

Bifotad Media recalls that Hushpuppi after his 2020 arrest in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) was extradited to the United States on July 3 after he was accused of defrauding over 1.9 million people who are majorly Americans.

He pleaded guilty to all the charges filed against him while he was reported to in his confessional statement indict a Nigerian super cop, Abba Kyari, who is currently under investigation in Nigeria for drug-related offenses.

The post which elicited over 200 thousand likes and 12 thousand comments had many people calling for a Nigerian actor to take the lead role in the movie; to perfectly portray the Hushpuppi character.

Nollywood actor, Deyemi Okanlawon was one of those who took to 50 Cent’s comment section to make a request to audition for the Hushpuppi character.

The popular thespian best known for his roles in Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Blood Sisters, and King of Boys: The Return of the King trended recently for his role in Eleshin Oba, a Netflix movie produced by Biyi Bande, an adaptation of Wole Soyinka’s piece of work, “The Kings Horseman”.

Deyemi wrote: “Yo @50cent… I’ll love to audition to play Hushpuppy! 🙌🏼 🙌🏼 🙌🏼”.
