The ongoing litigation between outgoing governor of Osun State, Gboyega and the Governor-Elect, Ademola Adeleke took a funny turn as the 1st witness to testify in the case, Isiaka Olarewaju was discovered to be one of Oyetola’s Senior Special Assistant.
Findings by Bifotad Media showed that Olarewaju is the current Senior Special Assistant to Governor Oyetola on Research and Statistics, a position he held during and after the gubernatorial polls.

His status means he’s a party to the case and as such may not be qualified as a witness in the Tribunal case.
It would be recalled that the Tribunal on the 16th of November granted a subpoena ordering the Resident Electoral Commissioner REC for the Independent National Electoral Commission in Osun state to produce the nomination form and academic certificates tendered by the Governor-elect in the 2018 governorship election.
The July 16 Governorship poll had INEC declaring Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the winner of the election, beating incumbent Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to second place.
According to INEC, Ademola Adeleke polled 403,271 votes to defeat Gboyega Oyetola who scored 375,027 votes.
Dissatisfied with the declaration of the results, the APC and Governor Oyetola on August 5, 2022, submitted a petition before the tribunal in Osogbo alleging irregularities in the conduct of the polls.
The outgoing Governor and the APC are challenging the election results from 749 polling units across 10 local government areas of the state for various alleged electoral malpractice, especially over-voting.
Osun State currently has 30 Local Government Areas (LGA).
