Adegboyega Oyetola, who was declared the winner of the July 16, 2022 governorship election on Friday, then led a triumphant procession with a sizable group of his supporters.
Ademola Adeleke’s election as governor of Osun had earlier in the day been declared invalid by the Osun Governorship Election Tribunal.
Due to excessive voting and Electoral Act violations by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the tribunal declared the election invalid (INEC).
In Iragbiji, Oyetola’s hometown, a large crowd gathered to applaud the tribunal’s decision. He drove in a convoy in the road parade and joined them in the action.
